The Fruit Of Our Labor

Roughly 30% of Gen Z adults have experienced or are currently experiencing food insecurity. But when you’re given the proper nutrition you need — WhyHunger’s entire mission — you’re given the chance to dream.

My partner and I created this spec work for the 2025 Cannes Young Lions Competition, where we won Gold in the Film category.

In June, they sent us halfway across the world to the sweltering heat of the French Riviera to compete against winning teams from 40+ other countries at Cannes. Given a brief on ovarian cancer awareness and 48 hours to concept, write, cast, pre-pro, shoot, color, VO record, compose a song, and edit an entire spot, we made this.

We ended up shortlisting — one of only two US teams to be awarded internationally.
